LDPI provides superior water filtration through diatomaceous earth also known as D.E. This off white powder aids the filter by picking up very fine particles. These particles pass through other types of filters, cartridge or sand, and stay suspended in the water, visible in the water at night around lights.

Cleaning of this filter is done by back-washing. This process cuts your maintenance time in half by reversing the water flow through the filter. Clean water washes the dirty D.E. from the filter, preparing it for fresh powder.

Pool Water Disinfection

Swimming pool water can still contain microscopic organisms even though it is clean.

LDPI virtually eliminates the difficult and time-consuming task of maintaining the chemical balance in the water.

LDPI swimming pools eliminate these micro organisms by means of ozone oxidation. Ozone is a colorless gas introduced to the pool water through the filter pump.

LDPI used dissolved salt (3000-4000 parts per million) in the swimming pool water as a store for the chlorinating system. Our chlorinator uses electrolysis to break down the salt and release the chlorine into the water. This eliminates any algae or bacteria from fouling the water.

Salt levels in the ocean are 35 parts per thousand. Salt pools require "stabilizer" cyan-uric acid to help stop the chlorine from evaporating out of the pool. The PH measure of acidity and base in the water must also be kept close to 70, allowing the chlorine to be most effective.
